I just bought a truck. Where do I start?
With the entity and the USDOT number, then MC Authority and BOC-3 if you are hauling for hire, then UCR, IRP, and IFTA depending on your weight and whether you cross state lines, and Form 2290 if the truck is 55,000 pounds or more. The trucking industry page walks the sequence in order.
Do you handle the recurring filings, not just the setup?
Yes. IFTA is quarterly, UCR is annual, 2290 is annual, and MCS-150 is biennial. Those are calendared and filed on schedule, which is the part most carriers are actually buying.
